Ii. Phenomenological Model for History Effects and Metastablity in Weakly Pinned Superconductors

چکیده
We present magnetization data on a weakly pinned CeRu2 single crystal showing the existence of a stable state of the vortex lattice in the peak effect region. The stable state is achieved by cycling the magnetic field by small amplitude. This stable state is characterized by a unique value of critical current density (Jc), independent of the magnetic history of the sample. The results support the recent model proposed by Ravikumar et al [1] on the history dependence of the Jc.

Dynamics of metastable vortex states in weakly pinned superconductors: A phenomenological model
We present a phenomenological model for the vortex dynamics in the peak effect region of weakly pinned superconductors. We explain the history dependent dynamic response of the metastable vortex states subjected to a transport current and the hysteretic voltage-current characteristics observed in the vicinity of peak effect in weakly pinned superconductors. A strong variation in voltage current...
متن کاملNature of the Order-disorder Transition of the Vortex Matter in Weakly Pinned Superconductors
Peak effect in weakly pinned superconductors represents order-disorder transition of the vortex matter. It is accompanied by metastability. Experimental manifestation of the metastability is highlighted and is explained by proposing a phenomenological model, in which each metastable vortex state corresponds to a distinct critical current density J c . Existence of a unique stable state correspo...

The peak effect in weakly pinned superconductors is accompanied by metastable vortex states. Each metastable vortex configuration is characterized by a different critical current density Jc, which mainly depends on the past thermomagnetic history of the superconductor. A recent model [G. Ravikumar et al, Phys. Rev. B 61, R6479 (2000)] proposed to explain the

As a simplified model of randomly pinned vortex lattices or charge-density waves, we study the random-field XY model on square (d = 2) and simple cubic (d = 3) lattices. We verify in Monte Carlo simulations, that the average spacing between topological defects (vortices) diverges more strongly than the Imry-Ma pinning length as the random field strength, H, is reduced. We suggest that for d = 3...
متن کاملDisordered Type-II Superconductors: A Universal Phase Diagram for Low-Tc Systems
A universal phase diagram for weakly pinned low-Tc type-II superconductors is revisited and extended with new proposals. The low-temperature “Bragg glass” phase is argued to transform first into a disordered, glassy phase upon heating. This glassy phase, a continuation of the high-field equilibrium vortex glass phase, then melts at higher temperatures into a liquid. This proposal provides an ex...
